Add visual sound level feedback (VU Meter)

Would this interest anyone? Please comment on what you'd like. A simple vertical meter showing how loud the current sound is, or something more complex? I'm not a fan of actually displaying the sound wave, it's a waste of battery on a phone in my opinion.

I would love this level indicator. Recording a podcast is easier with this.

a simple meter just showing when I've hit digital distortion would suit me fine! To go with that, a way of adjusting input gain would be excellent as well though I'm not sure how possible it would be with the Windows Phone architecture (or if we could just use the volume knob)
