Dropbox upload fails

I have a 46:07, 86.2 MB file and just set up a DropBox account. Ihave tried to upload it to both private and public folder and it always fails. The progress bar shows for about 15 seconds, slowing down at the end, and then the phone returns to the home screen.

UPDATE:
The multi-part zip file idea has been implemented and any size recording should be able to be uploaded now. Please let us know how it works for you!

I'm currently looking for a solution to this. It appears that some phones actually work for larger recordings like that but others do not. I've tried some other Dropbox libraries but had no luck. I will also investigate Skydrive integration as an alternative.
For a workaround one possibility would be for me to create a multi-part zip file and upload all the individual parts that you could then unzip from dropbox on a computer. That certainly isn't as convenient and then you can't send links as nicely either. Does anyone have thoughts on that idea?

I have the same problem, with a 111mb file that runs for an hour.
I would welcome the multi-part idea but to be honest i'd much rather be able to access the recordings directly on the phone via usb if at all possible.
If you implement a multi-part zip you will also need to implement a way for the program to know which parts have been downloaded already in case of a crash or a dropbox issue because otherwise we'll be at square one having a download time out on part 3 of 7 and having to start all over again.

I too would rather have a direct transfer over USB however at this point Microsoft isn't allowing that.

You have a good point regarding the need to store the progress for multi-part zip files, I will definitely keep track of the upload status for each part. It would likely even allow a progress bar of sorts.

I'm also looking at the possibility of a program that would run on your computer that could receive the files from your phone over WiFi. That is still in the research phase though.

A program that could receive the files over wifi would be great. Have you thought about implementing a basic server app in the program so we could access the files over wifi through a web browser? I had an app on my old iphone that allowed that and it worked really well. WP7 infrastructure-allowing, obviously.

for now, is there any way at all I can get access to my recording?

Instead of uploading the file to Dropbox, I played it back through the phone's headset jack and recorded it on a desktop computer. The quality is fine, it just took longer than a Dropbox transfer might have.
